Hello and welcome to the Lazybrook Baptist Church on the NW side of the Heights in Houston. I’m Dr. John Neesley. Join us for worship each Sunday at 10:45 AM as we are inspired with heart-felt praise & worship along with being challenged by the Word of God. Each Sunday participants are welcome to write out requests while some members pray during the service. Attention is given to experiencing God, receiving guidance from Him and leaving inspired. Coming into relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ is starting focus of our ministry. Our passion is to know Christ and make Him known in our community and around the world. Our ongoing ministry partnerships and travels extend into Mexico, Africa, India as well as various points in Asia.
As pastor since 1996, I’ve seen my 2 kids grow through the children’s and youth ministries. Some of their best memories of fun and friendship extend from this church. All families can use the loving support of a church family like this one. If you are looking for a multi-generational church, we have ministries for all ages. Lazybrook is a place where community takes place, where people feel that they belong to an extended family of support and encouragement. Our community ministries extend to the local public school each week where mentors tutor students at Sinclair Elementary School. Each Monday we lead worship for our senior adult friends at the Hampton House Assisted Living Center. Our church serves as a resource base for several civics clubs and community improvement efforts such as Friends of Jaycee Park.
It took 2 people to die for me to come to personal faith in Jesus Christ. When my teenage friend Charlie died in a drowning accident, I began to ask: what happens after you die? If life is so short, what is the meaningful and lasting? Can I have a friend that will never leave me? I found the answers in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. My prayer is that you will experience the blessings of eternal life with Christ.
